Terms & Conditions

Please read our Terms & Conditions carefully before making any purchase. Any product sale with Galaxy Lighting & Fans, whether it be in store or online is governed by our Terms & Conditions. Your agreement to purchase with Galaxy Lighting & Fans is your automatic acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.


Shipping

  1. Delivery Coverage

We offer shipping to most locations across Australia. Certain regional or remote areas may not be serviceable, or may incur additional fees and/or delivery times when using a courier.

  1. Shipping Methods

Orders are typically dispatched via Australia Post with tracking. Depending on the size, weight, or destination of the order, a courier service may be used at our discretion. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the dimensions and weight of your order.

  1. Order Assessment

Once your order has been placed, our team will review it within 1 – 3 business days. If any issues arise regarding delivery to the supplied address, you will be notified promptly and provided with alternative options, including delivery to an alternate address or a full refund. Whilst all care is taken to ensure stock levels are correct at the time of purchase, occasionally we may run out of an item before updating the website. If this is the case we will notify you ASAP and provide options (backorder, product swap, cancel/refund etc).

  1. Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers must select their preferred delivery method at checkout by confirming the “Authority to Leave” checkbox. By default, all orders are shipped signature required.
  • If you select “Authority to Leave,” Australia Post (or courier) will leave the parcel unattended at the delivery address. Customers acknowledge and accept that, in such cases, Galaxy Lighting & Fans is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to the parcel after delivery.
  • Galaxy Lighting & Fans reserves the right to override an Authority to Leave instruction if the parcel’s value or delivery location requires a signature. Delivery drivers may also refuse to leave parcels in situations they consider unsafe; in such cases, the parcel will be redirected to the nearest collection point.
  • Selecting Authority to Leave constitutes the customer’s explicit consent to unattended delivery and agreement that the risk of loss passes to the customer once the parcel is delivered.

  1. Tracking & Notifications

Tracking details will be provided via email once your order has been shipped. Please note that order updates may be filtered into junk/spam folders; it is the customer’s responsibility to check these folders to ensure tracking information is received.

  1. Non-Collection & Returns

Orders returned to us due to non-collection or incorrect address details will incur a return-to-sender fee as well as additional shipping costs if redelivery or a refund is requested.

  1. Damaged or Missing Goods

All goods are inspected prior to dispatch. Any damaged items must be reported to Galaxy Lighting & Fans within 2 business days of receipt. Galaxy Lighting & Fans accepts no liability for parcels that are lost, stolen, or missing after they have been successfully delivered to the customer’s nominated address.

Delivery Times

Transit times vary across the country but here’s a rough guide to help:

Queensland 2 - 7 business days
New South Wales 3 - 6 business days
Australian Capital Territory  3 - 5 business days
Northern Territory 8 - 14 business days
Tasmania 6 - 8 business days
Victoria 4 - 6 business days
Western Australia 11 - 14 business days

* Regional areas may be longer, times are from when the item(s) are dispatched and are estimates only. Holiday periods such as Christmas will also affect delivery times. Please allow plenty of time between ordering and installation dates.  

Click & Collect (Cairns & Surrounds only)

Please allow 1 business day to check the order for availability and to fill the order. When the order is ready for collection, an email will be sent to the address provided. Click & Collect is located at our retail store at 186 Lyons Street, Cairns. Photo ID is required. Please note we will not ship orders if Click & Collect was selected.
 

Returns & Refunds Policy

  1. Change of Mind
    Please choose carefully, as refunds are not provided for change of mind or incorrect selections.
  2. Transaction Fees
    Online payment service providers (e.g. PayPal, Stripe) charge fees on all transactions but will not return the fees after refunding those transactions.  Any fees incurred are the responsibility of the customer if a refund is requested.
  3. Faulty or Misdescribed Goods
    Refunds or exchanges are available if goods are faulty or significantly different from their description. Damaged or faulty products must be returned to Galaxy Lighting & Fans within 30 days of purchase. Refunds will only be processed for goods returned in their original condition; any damage or missing items may reduce the refund amount
  4. Return Shipping
    Customers are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of return shipping. Galaxy Lighting & Fans is not liable for freight charges associated with returned goods.
  5. Assessment & Processing
    Once returned, goods will be inspected. If a refund, credit, or exchange is approved, it will be processed within 7–14 business days.

    - Refunds will have payment gateway fees and original shipping charges deducted.
    - Original freight/postage charges are non-refundable.
    - Exchanges will incur additional shipping costs.

  6. Free Shipping Promo Returns
    While shipping is free with select promotions, the actual shipping cost incurred by Galaxy Lighting & Fans will be deducted from refund totals, in addition to the above payment gateway fees. 

Free Shipping Promo Exclusions

If Galaxy offers a FREE SHIPPING promotion, certain criteria must be met (delivery location, minimum order amount etc). Free shipping promos exclude items already unavailable to purchase online and certain regional locations. If an item is unable to be sent for free, we will notify the customer with other options. Please note Cairns & surrounding postcodes are not included in any FREE SHIPPING promotions (Click & Collect will be available instead).

Fan Frenzy Sale – Free Shipping is only available on products advertised within the Fan Frenzy Page. Fan Frenzy Free Shipping does not apply to any other products on Galaxy Lighting & Fans website. Please note the above Returns & Refunds section 6 also applies to this promotion.

 

Pricing & Availability

  1. Product Availability
    All products are subject to availability. While Galaxy Lighting & Fans strives to maintain accurate stock levels, there may be occasions when items are temporarily unavailable or sold out.
  2. Pricing
    Prices are subject to change without prior notice. All online orders are subject to confirmation. If an order has been placed and payment made, and the product is subsequently affected by a price change or availability issue, Galaxy Lighting & Fans will notify you promptly. If the revised price is not acceptable or the item is no longer available, a full refund of any monies paid will be provided.
  3. Back-Orders
    In cases where a product is unavailable, Galaxy Lighting & Fans may offer the option of placing the order on back-order. Customers will be contacted to confirm whether they wish to proceed on this basis.
  4. Order Rights
    Galaxy Lighting & Fans reserves the right to accept, refuse, or cancel any order at its sole discretion.

  1. Accuracy of Information
    Galaxy Lighting & Fans makes every effort to provide accurate product descriptions, images, and specifications. However, errors may occasionally occur due to manufacturer information or human oversight. We reserve the right to correct any such errors without prior notice. Colours shown on the website may vary from the actual product due to monitor settings, lighting conditions, or photography; Galaxy Lighting & Fans is not liable for minor colour discrepancies.
  2. Images & Colour Representation
    Product images are provided for illustrative purposes only. Variations in photography, lighting, or individual screen settings may affect the accuracy of colour or appearance.
  3. Customer Responsibility
    Customers are encouraged to contact Galaxy Lighting & Fans with any questions regarding product specifications, suitability of application, or colour confirmation prior to purchase. We are committed to assisting with all enquiries to ensure informed purchasing decisions.


Payment Details

  1. Payment Methods
    Galaxy Lighting & Fans accepts payments securely through PayPal, Paypal Pay-In-4, Google Pay and Link/Stripe.
    • PayPal allows customers to pay using an existing account, create a new account, or process a credit/debit card payment without signing up by selecting “Pay with a credit or debit card”.
    • PayPal Pay-In-4 is an option provided by PayPal to pay in 4 instalments.
    • Link/Stripe processes credit and debit card payments directly through its secure payment gateway.
  2. Currency & GST
    • All prices listed on our website are in Australian Dollars (AUD).
    • Prices are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST), unless otherwise stated.
    • Any additional fees charged by PayPal or Stripe (such as international currency conversion fees) are the responsibility of the customer.
  3. Security & Privacy
    All transactions are handled exclusively through PayPal or Stripe. Galaxy Lighting & Fans does not have access to, or store, your credit card or account details at any stage. Once payment has been confirmed, your order will be processed, and a confirmation email will be sent to your nominated email address.
  4. Stripe Services
    Stripe may collect information about the devices that connect to its services in order to provide fraud detection, analytics, and service improvements. Further information, including Stripe’s privacy policy, can be found at: https://stripe.com/privacy.
  5. PayPal & PayPal Pay in 4

  6. Google Pay
    Google pay allows customers to pay using cards stored in their Google account. Payments are processed securely via Stripe or the customer’s bank, and Galaxy Lighting & Fans does not have access to your card details. Using Google Pay may pre-fill billing and shipping information; it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure this information is correct before confirming the order. Google Pay transactions are subject to Google Pay’s terms of service: https://pay.google.com/intl/en_au/about/.
  7. Dispute or chargeback notice:
    Any payment disputes are governed by the respective payment provider’s terms and these Terms & Conditions. Galaxy Lighting & Fans reserves the right to verify and respond to such disputes in accordance with applicable law.

Please note if a payment is made using a card denominated in a foreign currency, any conversion fees are charged by your card issuer, and Galaxy Lighting & Fans is not responsible. Link and Google Pay payments are tokenized through Stripe, meaning actual card numbers are never shared with Galaxy Lighting & Fans. Stripe may perform fraud detection and verification checks. In rare cases, this may temporarily delay order confirmation. Refunds for payments made via Google Pay or Link/Stripe will be processed back to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates purchased through our website are valid for online use only through galaxylighting.com.au and cannot be redeemed in-store. They may be applied toward any eligible product available on our retail website and must be used in accordance with the terms and conditions provided at the time of purchase. Gift certificates are non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash. Gift certificates may be redeemed by local customers using our ‘Click & Collect’ service on our website.


Types of Warranty

At Galaxy Lighting & Fans, we want to make the warranty process as simple and stress-free as possible. The type of warranty that applies to your product will depend on the manufacturer’s terms.

Replacement Warranty

If your product is found to be faulty within the replacement warranty period, you may be entitled to a replacement. Replacement warranty does not cover installation, removal, or postage/labour costs, unless explicitly stated. If a returned item is inspected and confirmed to be faulty, a replacement (if available) will be sent at no cost to the customer. Before returning any product, you must first request a Return Authorisation from Galaxy Lighting & Fans. Unauthorised returns cannot be accepted.

In-Home Warranty

Some products, such as ceiling fans, may be covered by an in-home manufacturer warranty. If your installed product is found to be faulty within the in-home warranty period, the manufacturer will arrange for an authorised service agent to inspect, diagnose, and either repair or replace the item. Costs associated with incorrect installation or installation labour are not covered under warranty and may be payable by you at the time of service. For in-home warranty claims, please contact the manufacturer directly using the details provided with your product.

Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

All products sold by Galaxy Lighting & Fans come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure is not major. These rights apply in addition to any manufacturer or replacement warranty.

Limitation of Liability

    Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or any other law which cannot be excluded.

    To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the goods or services we provide is limited, at our option, to one or more of the following:
    • replacement of the goods or supply of equivalent goods;
    • repair of the goods;
    • payment of the cost of replacing the goods or acquiring equivalent goods; or
    • payment of the cost of having the goods repaired.

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any:
    • loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill;
    • indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage;
    • damage caused by misuse, neglect, or improper installation of our products by you or a third party.
  4. Website Content
    While we aim to ensure the information on our website is accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee it is error-free, and we accept no liability for any loss suffered as a result of reliance on website content.
  5. Galaxy Lighting & Fans is not liable for any delay, failure, or non-delivery of goods caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to notify customers and arrange alternative solutions, but we cannot guarantee delivery times or outcomes.

Unless a product is labelled DIY (Do-It-Yourself), all electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician.
